Members of Eli's Big Band practiced Tuesday at the Albert A. Chatigny Sr. Community Recreation Center in Beaumont.

Jim Schoonderwoerd brought his 90-year-old mother, Marguerite, to listen to the music and get a little exercise by walking around the gym.

The Chatigny Community Center is at 1310 Oak Valley Parkway.
