In the cover story for The New York Times' March 30 travel section,
Billboard magazine editor Joe Levy called music cruises "both profitable and
proliferating.'' Artists including Weezer, R. Kelly, Blake Shelton, Kid Rock and Kiss have performed on the high seas, and promoters also organize cruises
by genre, according to Levy.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which was held over two
weekends in April for the second straight year, brought in more than $47
million and more than 158,000 people. Coachella and country music festival
Stagecoach ranked No. 1 and 2 on Billboard's Boxscore chart, which lists
concerts held around the world since late last year.

General admission and VIP passes for the 2013 Coachella festival sold
out in May, the same day they went on sale. Next year's festival is scheduled
for April 12-14 and April 19-21.
