ARCHITECTURE: Open House 3 Days at John Lautner's Windsong in Twin Pines

The owner says she is inviting the public to the first open house in the 20 years she has owned the home, to coincide with Palm Springs Modernism Week.

A Twin Pines home designed by architect John Lautner will be open to the public for the first time in 20 years from Friday to Sunday.

Commissioned by Marco Wolff in the 1960s, the home is known as Windsong and it is considered an of the San Gorgonio Pass, as well as Southern California.

Owner Glo Smith is hosting the first open house in the 20 years she has owned Windsong to coincide with Palm Springs Modernism Week, she said in a phone interview Wednesday.

Windsong is at 48700 Twin Pines Road, about 11 miles from midtown Banning off Highway 243.

Palm Springs Modernism Week is Feb. 16 to Feb. 26.

Smith said she is hosting her open house Friday Feb. 17, Saturday Feb.  18, and Sunday Feb. 19. She invited anyone interested to call her for directions at (951) 809-4111.
