Wet Windy Winter Storm Conditions Expected in Mountains + the Pass

A cold low pressure system off the California coast is expected to move inland toward the San Gorgonio Pass on Monday.

Wind, rain and snow are expected in the San Gorgonio Pass and the mountains above by Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

A cold low pressure system will move inland toward the Pass by late Monday, bringing cold and wet winter storm conditions, the Weather Service advised.

Showers are expected at lower elevations in the Pass, with strong, gusting winds, and snow higher in the mountains.

Light rain could begin Sunday night, becoming more widespread by early Monday and ending by early Tuesday, the Weather Service advised.

Snow levels could come down to about 3,500 feet by early Monday and lower to 2,500 feet by Monday night.

Strongest winds could arrive Monday afternoon and evening, with gusts of 50 miles to hour to 60 mph possible.

"This weather could be deadly for unprepared campers or hikers," the Weather Service advised. "The strong winds will result in low visibility and dangerously low windchill temperatures."
