Weather Forecast: Snow in Beaumont, Cherry Valley for 'Winterfest'

Okay, so it won't really be snowing, but there WILL be a real snow hill featured among all the festivities of Winterfest.

The 20th Annual 'Winterfest' celebration comes to town this weekend, kicking off Friday at 4 p.m..

The event-- which will now run over a period of two days-- is held at the Cherry Valley Grange, 10478 Beaumont Ave., Cherry Valley.

"Winterfest presents plenty of vendors featuring hand crafted items, jewelry, toys and other specialty items, as well as food vendors," Diane Gonzales of the Beaumont-Cherry Valley Recreation & Park District said.  "The two evenings will be full of excitement, including a snow hill, entertainment, hayrides, fire truck rides from Fire Memories and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus

There's a tree lighting ceremony on Friday, at 5 p.m., in which the large deodar tree on the corner of Beaumont Ave and Cherry Valley Blvd. will be lit for the holiday season.  This year, the same Cherry Valley resident who lit the tree at the first Winterfest in 1992, Stella Parks, will once again have the honor.
