VIDEO: Contestants Talk About Why They Enter the IE Zombie Beauty Pageant

They come from Mentone, Yucaipa, Forest Falls, Redlands and Rancho Cucamonga, and they're competing in the 3rd Annual Inland Empire Zombie Beauty Pageant.

The contestants, who range in age from their late teens to 30-somethings, talked Wednesday night with Redlands-Loma Linda Patch about why they've entered the pageant.

Tickets for the Oct. 27 event, presented by Forbidden Panel at Fox Banquet and Event Center in Redlands, are $12 online and $15 at the door. Here's more info from pageant organizer AJ Herrera:

"Forbidden Panel is proud to present the 3rd Annual Inland Empire Zombie Beauty Pageant. Join us as contestants compete in talent, swimwear, and evening gown competitions. . . . 

"Doors open at 6:30pm. The Pageant starts at 7:00pm. Formal attire and/or costumes requested. Please, no zombies in the audience.....it's for your own safety."

Fox Banquet and Event Center is at 123 Cajon St.
