Teen Arrested with Pound of Marijuana, Hashish During Traffic Stop

Police say they found a large amount of drugs during traffic stop in San Jacinto.

A Hemet teen was free on $25,000 from the Banning jail on Monday, after a weekend drug arrest had landed him in the facility, jail and police records indicated.

19-year-old Leroy Langston II was arrested Friday after a police officer conducting a traffic stop in San Jacinto found "over one pound of marijuana and hashish," according to sheriff's sergeant Joey Nardone.

"The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle and also saw a large amount of marijuana on the passenger side floor board," Nardone said.

Langston was then taken to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, where he was booked on felony charges of possession for sales of marijuana, transportation of marijuana and possession of hashish, according to Nardone and jail records.

The teen posted bail that same day, and isn't due in court until April 19, records indicate.
