Sun Breaks Through in the Pass, Mountains Still Shrouded by Storm

The storm system that blanketed the San Gorgonio Pass began breaking up Tuesday afternoon, but the high mountains were still hidden by dense, dark cloud cover.

The sun broke through Tuesday afternoon, cutting through remnants of a cold storm system that brought rain to the Pass and snow in the mountains over the past two days.

But the high mountains on both sides of the Pass remained shrouded in dense, dark cloud cover, and scattered showers remained possible at lower elevations through Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Light snowfall was also possible above 4,500 feet elevation.
