A high wind warning was issued for 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday for the Pass east of Cabazon, the San Jacinto Mountains, the foothills of the San Gorgonio Wilderness, and into the Coachella Valley.

West winds of 25 miles per hour to 35 mph are possible, with gusts to 60 mph, according to the Weather Service.

Blowing dust and sand in desert areas could reduce visibility to around a quarter-mile, and the winds could make driving difficult, especially for anyone in high-profile campers, trucks and bigrigs.

"Freeways most likely to be impacted are Interstate 10 and Highway 111 near the Banning Pass . . . and Interstate 8 near the San Diego and Imperial county border," the Weather Service advised. "Watch for downed trees and power lines."

Highs Friday afternoon from Beaumont to Cabazon were expected to range from 70 to 79 degrees.
