A chilly mid-April storm that persisted at higher elevations Saturday morning dusted both sides of the San Gorgonio Pass with snow down to levels between 4,000 and 5,000 feet.
Lows around 7 a.m. Saturday were in the 30s in north Beaumont and Banning, and it was 24 degrees in Pine Cove near Idyllwild, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasts for Saturday called for highs in the 50s from Beaumont to Cabazon with clearing and highs in the 70s by Sunday.
