REMINDER: Beaumont Police and Firefighters Host Chili Cook-Off to Benefit MDA

Beaumont police and firefighters at Stations 1, 20 and 21 are planning to host their chili cook-off later today, Friday Nov. 8, at Beaumont Civic Center.

"Community members are encouraged to come out and meet their firemen and
policemen, and vote for their favorite chili!" said Ashley Starr of the City of Beaumont.

Five types of chili will be featured, including one vegetarian chili, Starr said.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12, and each ticket pays for samples of each entry, salad, bread, water, dessert, and "one bowl of your favorite chili," Starr said.

Event tickets are available for purchase at Beaumont Civic Center, Albert A. Chatigny Community Recreation Center, Beaumont Police Department, and Fire Station 1.

Proceeds from the sale of dinner tickets will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The event is scheduled 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 8 at 550 E. 6th St.
