Park District Honoring Two Beaumont Men in Annual Memorial Wall Dedication Ceremony

The following was submitted for publication by the Beaumont Cherry Valley Recreation and Park District: 

The Beaumont-Cherry Valley Recreation and Park District (BCVRPD) will host the 7th Annual Memorial Wall Dedications on Saturday, May 10th at 2:00 pm to honor Mr. Robert Agner and Mr. Jay Dee Wilfley.  

The Dedications will take place at the Memorial Wall in the Quad area near the large ball field #1 at Noble Creek Park, 650 W. Oak Valley Parkway, Beaumont.

  • Robert Edwin Agner 1958 - 2012: son of Beverly & Edwin Agner, he was the 2nd oldest of six children.  Robert graduated from Beaumont High School.  He began umpiring in the 1990’s for Little League, Beaumont Youth Baseball, Men & Women’s Softball, Men’s Baseball Tournaments and Traveling Teams.

    He was known as the most honest, knowledgeable and willing umpire.  He was committed to making a better future for the youth in Beaumont through youth baseball reminding them to respect the team and be a good citizen both on and off the field.

  • Jay Dee Wilfley 1955 – 2012: a loving husband to his wife Lynda.  He graduated from Beaumont High School in 1973.  Jay Dee grew up in Beaumont Little League and Pony League. 

    He continued on to play men’s softball on Beaumont teams.  He was a coach for Beaumont Little League and competed as an archer with the Cherry Valley Bowhunters.
