UPDATE: Snow Dusts Oak Glen, Cherry Valley, North Banning + Mountains

Daytime highs from 57 to 61 were expected Thursday from Beaumont to Cabazon. A high wind warning was in effect until 1 p.m. Friday.

Update 8:58: Chains are required on all cars and trucks on Highway 243 between Pine Cove and Mountain Center, except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires, according to Terri Kasinga of Caltrans.

Posted 8:03 a.m. Overnight snow dusted Oak Glen, Cherry Valley and north Banning and the mountains leading to the San Gorgonio Wilderness, and some residents woke up Thursday with snow and ice on their vehicles.

Friday is expected to be slightly warmer in the Pass, with daytime highs from 65 to 68 and mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.
