Holocaust Survivor David Faber to Speak 10/13 at Mt. San Jacinto College

He survived nine concentration camps during WWII while he was still a teenager. Tickets to the two-hour event are $5. At the San Jacinto Theater at 1499 N. State St., San Jacinto.

Holocaust survivor and author David Faber, who survived nine concentration camps during WWII while he was still a teenager, plans to speak at Mt. San Jacinto College on Oct. 13.

The event is scheduled 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the San Jacinto Theater at 1499 N. State St. in San Jacinto, a college representative announced Tuesday. Tickets are $5 and the event is open to the public.

It will be the third time Faber has come to MSJC to speak about his life.

Faber was born in 1926. Growing up Jewish in Poland, he suffered Nazi persecution from 1939 to 1945. During the Holocaust, he witnessed the murder of his parents and six of his seven siblings. He was imprisoned in eight different concentration camps, including Auschwitz. When he was liberated from Bergen-Belsen in 1945, he was 18 and weighed 72 pounds.

Signed copies Faber’s paperback "Because of Romek: A Holocaust Survivor's Memoir" will be sold at the event.

Tickets can be purchased at the San Jacinto Campus Theater box office or by calling (951) 487-3790. Seating will be first-come, first-served. Space may be limited, and organizers recommend attendees arrive early.
