High Wind Warning for Area Including San Gorgonio Pass Thru 2p Saturday

Northeast winds of 25 mph to 35 mph sustained are possible , with gusts to 65 mph at times.

Strong winds returned to the San Gorgonio Pass on Friday, and a high wind warning was issued through 2 p.m. Saturday.

"Surface high pressure over the Great Basin will bring periods of strong gusty northeast winds through and below passes and canyons . . . at times into Saturday," the National Weather Service advised.

The strongest winds were expected through early Friday afternoon and again late Friday night into Saturday morning.

"Impacts: The winds will make driving difficult . . . especially for motorists with high profile vehicles," a high wind warning stated. "Watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines."
