Get Tested Coachella Valley will be administering free, confidential HIV testing throughout the Valley today. Their mobile clinic will be at the Eisenhower Health Center at Rimrock, 4791 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, Friday between noon and 3 p.m.
The Palm Springs region has the fourth-highest prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) — the retrovirus that causes AIDS — in all of California. Yet, according to Get Tested Coachella Valley, more than half of residents report they have never been tested for HIV.
While the mobile clinic will be at Eisenhower Health Center, all local hospitals will participate in the free day of screening.
