The following is a news release from the city of Beaumont:

July 4th is almost here and the City of Beaumont’s event calendar is full as usual! There is no need to travel out of town when we have so many fun activities going on right here in Beaumont!

The day will kick off at 10:00 a.m., when the City honors police and fire personnel during the annual Public Safety Memorial Dedication Ceremony. The memorial honors deceased public safety personnel who lived in or served the Beaumont or Cherry Valley area.

As a city, Beaumont respects the enormous sacrifices made by these brave men and women. Please join us as we honor and pay tribute to these special members of our community. The ceremony will take place at the Beaumont Civic Center, located at 550 E. 6th Street. Street closures will be in place on 6th Street between Orange Avenue and Magnolia Avenue from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The festivities continue with the City’s annual fireworks show celebrating the birth of our great Nation! Beginning at 4:00 p.m. there will be food, fun, and free entertainment for everyone.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come listen to The Basix and Eddie Money before watching the Pyro Spectacular Fireworks display! The festivities will be held at Stewart Park, located between 9th Street and 11th Street & Orange Avenue and Maple Avenue.
