Earthquake 3.0M Near San Jacinto

The jolt struck at 11:20 a.m. at a depth of nearly 10 miles, near San Jacinto and three miles north of Hemet, according to the USGS.

A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near the San Gorgonio Pass today, and it was felt from the Coachella Valley as far south as Murrieta.

The quake, which struck at 11:20 a.m. at a depth of nearly 10 miles, was centered near San Jacinto and three miles north of Hemet, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's website.

According to the USGS, the small temblor was felt in Beaumont, Banning, Idyllwild, Mountain Center, Palm Springs, Hemet, Murrieta, Perris and Temecula.
