Boys & Girls Clubs Awards Dinner Wednesday

The event is to celebrate and honor members who have exhibited "strong commitment" and "a high level of participation," Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass officials said.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass officials plan to host a "Celebrating Success" awards assembly and dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Nicolet Middle School's auditorium.

The assembly is to celebrate and honor members who have exhibited "strong commitment" and "a high level of participation" in at least one of five core program areas, Boys & Girls Clubs officials said.

The core program areas are:

Club members can also be recognized for their commitment to community service,  Boys & Girls Clubs officials said.

"We are so proud of all of our members and the hard work they did during the school year, but we wanted to take the time to recognize those members who have really been leaders in the Club or have especially contributed in some way," said Amy Herr of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass.

The event includes awards presentations and dinner for the honorees and their families, Boys & Girls Clubs officials said.

Nicolet Middle School is at 101 E. Nicolet St. in Banning.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass comprise a non-profit youth development agency. Its mission is to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens by providing stimulating and challenging programs through interaction with qualified caring adults, Boys & Girls Clubs officials said.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Gorgonio Pass have served the region's youth since 2006, with clubhouses in Banning, Beaumont and Cabazon.
