The 96th annual Cherry Festival kicks off Thursday in Beaumont, and thousands of people are again expected to fill Stewart Park through the weekend.

The event, held at the park off of 8th Street and Orange Ave., opens its gates Thursday at 5 p.m.

Hours for the 2014 festival are:
  • Thursday, June 5: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, June 6:  5 p.m. to midnight
  • Saturday, June 7:  Noon to midnight
  • Sunday, June 8:  Noon to 9 p.m.
There is live entertainment each night of the event, including performances from Dollface, The Basix and The Superfreaks.  Click here for the full lineup and showtimes.

In addition to all the events happening at the fairgrounds, there's the annual Pancake Breakfast at City Hall on Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the Cherry Festival Parade follows at 10:30 a.m.

It costs $5 for adults 12 and up to get into the event.  Children ages 6 to 11 must pay $3, and kids 5 and under are free.

On Thursday, which is "family night," admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.

No pets are allowed on the festival grounds.

Please remember to stop by the No Way Gateway booth, get your child's face painted (or yours if you wish), get more information and sign our petition to the Board of Supervisors.

Yes but you can't play the Lion's Club Bingo to raise money for kid's scholarships! Thanks to someone who complained said it was gambling! Really it's a charity people and has been going on for over 50 years!! Very sad
