3 on 3 Charity Basketball Tourney at Beaumont HS Saturday, Public Invited to Play

A local church organized the event to help send youth to camp.

Want to help out some local youth while having fun... and perhaps breaking a sweat?  Head on out this Saturday, April 27, to Beaumont High School gym for the first ever 3 on 3 charity basketball tournament hosted by a local church.

The money raised will help send local youth to a camp hosted by New Creation Church, which has campuses both in Banning and Beaumont.  The children's camp is held in Forest Falls, and the youth camp is held in Big Bear.  Both will be held this summer.

Among those playing in the benefit tournament is Martin DuSold, athletic director for Beaumont High School, and other local leaders, according to Juan De La Fuente, Jr., communications pastor for the church.

This is the first event of the sort, but De La Fuente tells Patch he hopes to make it an annual thing.

As of Friday afternoon, 20 teams had already registered to play, but De La Fuente says registration will remain open through the morning.  If you're interested in playing, you can show up to the Beaumont High School gymnasium at 9 a.m. Saturday and register as either and individual or a team.
