B/B Patch Likely To Be Shut Down - Call To Action

During a conference call Tim Armstrong, CEO of AOL (which owns the Patch network) indicated that AOL is closing down 400 local Patches and laying off a large percentage of the editors and work force on the remaining sites.

Each and every person who values our Patch should take the time to use the "Feedback" to politely request that our Patch be kept alive as it is the only forum we have to address issues in our local government. It is also the most valuable tool we have during times of emergency, having been the primary informational network during several fires.

It would be nice if all those responding would request that we can keep our wonderful editors Renee Schiavone, Guy McCarthy, Mirna Alfonso and their support teams unchanged as it has been their hard work and commitment that has made the Patch what it is for us.  I am trying to get direct e-mails to upper management and I will post those for everyone to use as soon as I obtain them. It is time for all of us who use this site to lay aside our differences and band together to save our Patch.
