Beaumont Library District Board has a vacancy

Applicants are being sought to fill a vacancy on the Beaumont Library District Board of Trustees. The district primarily includes the City of Beaumont and the unincorporated area of Cherry Valley. The board meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Laura May Steward Multipurpose Room of the Library, 125 E. Eighth St. in Beaumont.

The Beaumont Library District is an independent special district with a five-person board of trustees which oversees the operations of the 100-year-old Beaumont Library.

Current board members include President Sabina Brady, Secretary Kim Tursky and trustees Charles G. Ferrell and David Layman. The vacancy has been created by the resignation by former Trustee Erica Grover, who has moved from the area.

Any registered voter who lives within the Beaumont Library District is eligible to apply to fill the vacancy on the board. The library is open Monday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m. The library is closed on Wednesdays.
