Banning History Question

Mystery Hotel 20/30s?
Mystery Hotel 20/30s?
I have come across a mystery that seems to have puzzled all who have commented on it in fb.  There was a Hotel (I've dubbed it the 'Mystery Hotel') on the N/E corner of south San Gorgonio Ave and Bryant Ave.  It is across the street from the Alta Vista Hotel and I have found the building in pictures dated 1920 and 1930.  There does not seem to be any listing in a 1935 phone book.  Any ideas would be appreciated, thank you.

Danny Thomas owned a house on Cherry Valley Blvd, right across from the old egg ranch. The house is gone, but the double loop driveway is still there, although it is severely deteriorated. It can be seen on Google Maps,, north side of CV Blvd, a little more than a mile east of I-10. It's actually just east of the proposed Gateway project. It was a single story ranch style house, fairly large size but not overwhelming.

The picture l linked to was a fairly old pic, taken well after Danny Thomas had already sold the place. In the early 70s when he still owned it, there was lots of additional landscaping, with bushes along both sides of the driveway and nice gates at the front. From what I understand, it actually did have a second floor, below the ground floor and on the back side, facing the canyon.

OK, here is the latest that I've found on the "Mystery Hotel" mystery. In a 1954 phonebook is a listing for the "San Gee Apts" at 148 so San Gorgonio. This would place it across from the Alta Vista at 141 so San Gorgonio. I believe that this would be the building I am looking for, but I need more prior info.
