A quintet made up of professional musicians and educators played the multipurpose room at Anna Hause Elementary School in Beaumont on Tuesday and shared a number of jazz classics.

Selections included "Take the 'A' Train" by Duke Ellington, "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" by Cannonball Adderley, and Sonny Rollins' "St. Thomas."

Intent on showcasing the diversity of the genre, the group also shared improvisation and various stylistic renditions of "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
