BULLRIDING: Plus Barrel, Flag, Drag Racing at Hot Rodeo 2011 in Banning

Hot Rodeo 2011 ended Sunday in Banning with drag races and bullriding. One competitor, a 120-pound woman, rode a bull estimated more than 10 times her weight.

Hot Rodeo 2011 ended Sunday in Banning with bullriding. One competitor, a 120-pound woman, rode a bull estimated to weigh more than 10 times her weight.

Sara Simunovich, 31, from the San Francisco Bay area, wore a bandage on her right shoulder from a Saturday injury a few hours before her Sunday event.

"I landed on my arm bullriding and jammed my shoulder up," said Simunovich, who grew up in San Jose.

Simunovich said she doesn't ride horses, only bulls, and she's "been bullriding about five years now."

The bull she rode Sunday afternoon allowed her a brief ride. Simunovich went down hard but appeared to suffer no additional injury.

The bullrider who followed came out of the chute unbalanced, and the bull tossed him almost immediately.

A clown rushed in to distract the bull, and the bull ran over the clown. Another rodeo hand rushed in to distract the bull from the clown, who managed to walk away from the close encounter.
